One with 9-cell battery and Intel GMA graphics. I believe the Ion gpu consumes more battery. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also get the Atom processor with the new manufacturing technique. I believe they went from 45nm to 32nm? Or was it something else, I'm not really in tune with Atom Processors. Any how, the smaller transistor is usually more efficient and since they've polished the manufacturing technique used when making the newer models, it is more efficient energy wise.
You usually have to order those separately, or if you find a site that lets you customize your Eee PC, then you might be able to choose the 9-cell battery instead of the 6-cell. Keep in mind that the 9-cell will stick out a bit at the back of the netbook and it'll certainly be heavier.
ya but im looking for a model that is shipped with a lot of battery life. There is no customization of EEEs, you just chose a different model, the only thing you can change is the memory and i will not pay some vendor 50$ for 1GB of additional RAM when i can get the same off ebay for 15$. Anybody has a MODEL of EEE that has decent battery?
My 1015PEM runs for about 7 hours on medium brightness and with bluetooth off.
There aren't many 9 cell batteries for current Eee models... but there are different 6 cell batteries, the MU and PU versions differ by their capacities. The PU model has the higher rated battery.
The new ones that come with 6 cell are higher capacity then the old 9 cell batteries.
I can get 10h out of my 1005pe or more if going low power usage under linux.
