Hello guys, I am having a technical difficulty with a netbook I bought and I was hoping someone could have any experience on the subject.
I bought he Asus Eee PC 100PX Netbook for my mother in law, and everything was great, but then it started crashing in a way I've never seen before:

Vertical (graphic) stripes would appear on the screen, this would happen whenever watching photos, or playing music, but then it happened while using MSN messenger.

The thing here is that it was a refurbished laptop, and the warranty with the seller was only 30 days which is now over.

I can opt to send it back to factory, but I know that takes like 3 months to get it done, or I can choose for an engineer to look at it, I don't think its a big problem, and maybe have it fixed right here.

From your experience, what could the problem be with this netbook? Should I wait from 1 to 3 months and send it back to factory, or could it be something simpler and I could have it fixed with a technician?
