    Keep in mind that the Eee is not a full-fledged notebook (no optical drive and limited SSD space, for starters), it's a subcompact ultraportable. 7" screens may be too small for many people to do extended work on, and the keyboard is shrunk down to fit in the tiny chassis.

    For the money, if you need a real notebook, look at the budget offerings of the major manufacturers instead.

    The F8 is a nice notebook. To really get good suggestions, I would advise making a thread in the "what notebook should I buy" forum.
