Hi, I recently bought myself an Asus Eee PC 1002HA and I love it! It came with a 1GB ram, so I just wonder what is the maximum ram I can install on this machine? Since it supports DDR2 PC-5300 533mhz ram, would the 800mhz ram work on this? It would just downgrade to 533mhz speed right?

You could use 800Mhz RAM, it will clock down as you say, and the limit is 2GB for the eee. One module might be soldered on to the board so you can't remove it, I haven't checked the pics of your model to know. You'd want to check before you order two sticks because you might only be able to replace one.

I didn't know about the possible soldered piece. Thanks. I'll open the ram compartment and see how it is. I plan to upgrade it to maximum ram as possible, which is 2GB. :p
