I have an Asus Eee PC1201PN which up to now has been working fine no problems. When I plug my ac adaptor in the wall socket the blue light is solid but as soon as I plug it into my laptop the light continually flickers no lights come on the laptop to show it is charging! It continued to work until my battery finally died but now it won't turn on at all. I have left it plugged in for hours with no change. I am not very laptop savy so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I do not have access to another ac adaptor or battery for my model and don't want to buy replacement ones unless I know it is needed.

The only way to know for certain whether it is the DC jack/an issue related to the board or the adapter is to either purchase a new adapter and test, or send it to Asus for servicing. Or, if you or someone you know has a volt-ohm meter (also known as a multimeter), then you/he/she can test the adapter with it to save yourself on the guesswork. :)
