Looks like Asus is ready to go toe to toe with Apple. The Eee Pad looks awesome, and I would love to get my hands on one. As far as I know there is no word on pricing yet, but knowing Asus I would imagine it will try to stay competitive.

I'm gonna love this machine . . . if I have the spare money, I will definitely go for this. Nevertheless, what is the price tag for this pad? When is the ETA?
-

Not sure. Apparently Asus have not mentioned a price or release date yet.
-
read somewhere that this could also use a pen ala a drawing tablet or the eee tablet, any truth to that? If I can draw with this thing Im sold.

Yes apparently they have the Eee tablet E-reader, and it's supposed to be able to use a pen. It might only be a colorless screen though, not sure. There is some info about it here.
EDIT: I'm not sure if the Eee pad can be used as a drawing tablet. Would be awesome if it could though. -
regardless this thing is looking great. I'd love to see a decent, 'cheap' tablet for use with drawing.
-
I'd like to use something like this for portable Movies. I wonder how the speakers are (if it has any) and if there's a stand that comes with it.
-
Wow! Totally impressed, this thing looks like it's the real deal.
-
that's look pretty cool... definitely need to keep an eye on this thing...
-
I read Taiwanese news they mention released date is Q1 2011.

Too bad it wont be coming sooner. I don't mind waiting for it though, I don't need it, I just want it.
-
Yup Q1 next year, here is the Google translate page:

Yeah, this looks like something I want too.
-
if the price indeed is 399-499.. that's look pretty good...

Sigh... Asus needs to learn about decreasing time-to-market. I'm still waiting for the Bamboo models shown in January! They seem to always have something cool "on tap" but it takes 6 months to a year for it to release and by that time isn't "cool" anymore. If the Eee Pad was available right NOW, I'd probably buy one. However, by their launch date there will be tons of competing "pads" and Asus' offering will be an afterthought. They've got to do better than this.

Yeah it sucks the wait is so long. Hopefully they release it sooner. This thing looks pretty sweet.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't got that much feedback. These new products look amazing.
-
But cuts the usefulness half of a netbook ... and if using it with the keyboard dock then might as well get a faster note/netbook
-

Not really, a tablet like this IMO is more useful than the average netbook, and with the dual core Intel CPU inside and Nvidia's Tegra, this thing will be awesome for it's size and for being a tablet/pad in general.

Can I just say that guy in the second video doesnt really seem to know what he's talking about.
As far as the time to market, yeah its a bummer, but you saw from the videos how much more work Asus needs to do before its ever going to be ready. For a concept its pretty cool, but am I the only one that thinks this thing ought to have a camera or two (rear and front facing) to distinguish it from the rest? -
Two cameras???
One would be nice but not sure why you need one in the back. -
So you can take pictures with it as well as video chat with others.
