    Hey guys,
Recently I have been looking for a netbook that I can use for web browsing light gaming and word processing for university. The Asus Eee PC 1215N has caught my eye with the graphics and the features it has over other netbooks. The only thing im hesitant about at the moment is the complaints about the power adapter pin being weak and snapping off for various ppl. So, a local shop has this baby on sale ,$120 dollars off Asus Eee PC 1215N Black w/ Atom D525, 2GB, 250GB, 802.11 b/g/n, 12.1 WXGA LED, Win 7 Home Premium at Memory Express Computers. Should I go ahead and buy it? If its not worth it, what is a recommended asus netbook that is great that is also on that website? Not sure how up to date the 1215n is with other netbooks that are on that website. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction!

    Thanks in advance!

It doesn't sound bad, though admittedly I am not exactly in the loop at the moment.

The 1215n is in the top few most powerful netbooks available still today. In the normal price bracket for one of these you could get an amd based asus netbook which would be slightly more powerful and more reliable performance wise. BUT with that discount i would highly recommend you get the 1215n as the difference in price for the performance you get versus the other options isnt worth it.

I have used mine for the things you have specified for over a year now and it's been a great little thing with a decent amount of gaming umph if you know how to tweak it (may require a little reading).

Have a look at this thread which will tell you all you need to know about the performance of the machine, the little teething problems it had on release and most of the solutions to problems you have should any arise.

Thanks for the reply! Has the power pin that connects to adapter caused you any problems in the year you have owned it? Would really like to know before I go ahead and buy it! Also for an amd asus netbook any on that website that you would recommend? Are they more reliable than the 1215n?

The power pin has been no issue at all... even ran over it in a chair and its fine so i wouldn't worry there. Theres none on that website as good as the 1215n for that price and by reliable i just mean consistant driver performance, which has improved lately so its not really a big issue.
