Hello, i was thinking about picking up a Asus Eeepc 701 on my next trip to Japan. Currently i live in Australia. I was just wondering, since its so cheap, would the adapter be able to handle the 240v here while its only 120v in japan? Also would there be katakana or w/e all over the keyboards? And finally will i be able to change the language to english in the settings? Thankyou for your time.

You don't need to purchase any additional parts for the EeePC to work in 240V. The power adapter should handle that fine. However, the keyboard would be in both QWERTY, and Japanese characters. You should be able to change the settings easily, although I'm not too familiar with Linux.

Ask if the seller in Japan can change the language for you. Also remember to get a power plug converter =).
