Seems to be one of the least talked about models in this year's Asus line up.. any news on them? I think they're quite nice looking.. although perhaps not the powerhouse some want due to the x1400 card.

according to hardwarezone, these models will have spill proof keyboards, hard drive protection, and a fingerprint reader. are these the first Asus models to have them other than the V1?

Could be like laptops targeted towards more business users, I don't seem to see the media buttons. Though they could of made it into the FN+Fx keys...

I think people aren't talking about them because they are going to be the last series of Asus laptops to be released (the ones that we know of, at least).

^ Funny...as I was reading down I was thinking that...took the word out of my mouth.

Other than that and the business skew, they look somewhere between an Ensemble and a Built-on to me...I don't know what to make of it (vanilla?).

They're simple-looking... reminds me a lot of the Z96/S96 actually...
Looks like Asus is releasing a lot of notebooks nowadays withOUT dedicated multimedia/AudioDJ buttons. These would be good business notebook candidates though... no frills nor gimmicks.

Guys, I don't want to drag anyone down, but Asus' splitting of the notebook brand and ODM business opened up a LOT of windows this year...... they can do a lot more around the round without any competition clause concerns... This has put them in a position to announce a lot of system which honestly may not make it past the computer show demo stage. Models like the F2 (just a funny letter/number combo, isn't it?... I think a Ctrl+Alt+Del model number would go over swell too, right?)....

Anyway... I don't know if the F2 is coming to the states, but I'll put money it going to Canada. This notebook is designed for... well the people you'd think would buy something like that and the US business market isn't ready for it. There's a premium on some of those features and no one in the US can talk their bosses out of IBM and Hp and Dell..... The F series intreged me a little and I honestly though the Z96 was awfully similiar (but it's not)...

... It's just that there are so many potential new models this year that every Asus office can't support the sale of all of them. This is just one that may be better suited for a year from now, but we'll see what happens. There are a lot more systems that would do better in this country than the F2 as this moment.
