Does someone have experience with the F3E-AP? I'm looking for a cheap 15.4 notebook with a 1440 resolution.

Yeah, it's available in the UK. It features a X3100 and a WXGA+ display. Pretty good for Internet, office work and that sort of stuff. I don't want to have an energy wasting GPU but I prefer the 1440 resolution.

    It's the same series notebook...

Other than that, the forum is full of stories about poor customer support in the UK, a few of them in that thread, and there are many others... don't want to scare you, just so you know...

Actually I'm leaving the UK in a few days to get back to Germany for a while. Is the customer support over there any better? One of the reasons to get an Asus was the international guaranty.

I have heard a few bad comments but not as many as those about the UK, so I don't know...sorry.

Anyway, keep in mind that the chassis crack seems like a design flaw which means that it will happen sooner or later I guess.

Why don't you fill the FAQ in the "what to buy" section and see if you don't have better options.

Right now, I don't remember anything about ASUS Germany support being mentioned on the forums... but yeah, UK support is quite bad.
