I've been back-benching this forum for a few weeks, trying to make a decision on a new notebook. However, this will be my first post, so howdy!
I'm looking at the F3SA-A1, and would like to hear your opinions before purchasing. For its configuration, it seems to be a good price, about $1200 - 1300. Following are its specs:
Intel T7500 2.2GHz
1G RAM (+ 1G Turbo?)
160G HD
ATI HD2600 512MB video
Intel 4965 AGN WiFi
15.4" screen
Vista home premium
It's purpose is for home office use - basic accounting, internet-banking, and work photo-documentation.
I'm a vineyard operator and unfortunately I know only a little about computers. However many of my business contacts are becoming computer-centric. And as well as providing a means of organizing my business interests, a computer is certainly becoming the best way to do business - even in farming.
My objective is to find a computer with good cost/benefit that will not only be suitable for my current purposes, but also be sufficient for the next 4-5 years before I will need to upgrade.
I think the F3SA provides a good cost/benefit benchmark, however I do not have the experience that many of you have regarding longevity of computer products. So I'm hoping that based on my particular needs you can comment on this, as well as further comment on the F3SA for suitability. Of course, other computer recommendations are welcome! Looking forward to your responses.

The computer itself will probably be sufficient for basic office tasks for the next 4-5 years.
However, the F3 is a budget-series notebook. In a realistic estimation, that means that it will typically last 2 to 3 years, before things start breaking down. If you always keep it in the office, it might last longer; if you always carry it between home and office, it might last shorter.
If you really want a notebook that you can rely on, I suggest looking at a business-series notebook. Unfortunately the current ASUS 15.4" flagship, the V1S, is not what I'd call a reliable notebook. I think the (ultra-) compacts U3S, U6S are a bit better but they haven't been around long enough to really be sure.
Perhaps look at a different brand, Lenovo Thinkpad for instance.
