Yesterday while playing a game of Quake my laptop screen froze, I figured it was nothing so I rebooted and when I rebooted my laptop, the image was highly distorted and appearing 6 times on the screen. In addition to this there is a black bar in the middle of the images. I called Asus and they asked me to send it in to them, I was just wondering if anyone had an idea as to what caused this I know its a video card problem but does anyone know what might have caused it or how to fix it?

Did you check the temps on it? Most probably, clogged cooling system and high temp on the GC.

I thought it might be a temp issue also, but I opened the back and air dusted out the fan its totally clean running at low temp and still 6x blurry images + black bar down middle of screen. Totally lost because shouldnt a laptop not show any images if the VC is defective or does the mobo have any form of built in graphics?

You burned it while playing. It is not dead 100 % that is why you have lines and stuff.
