Wow. ASUS sure does release a lot of notebooks today. A 220M? Maybe it'll be a slower clocked 230M like the case of the 120M. :p

you are not looking at the same notebook. The F50SF is indeed coming with the new GT 220 GPU. The previous version is the F50SV ;)

Hmm, I haven't seen that gpu show up anywhere. It wasn't in NVidia's recent announcement of 40nm cards unless I'm mistaken.

The link says it's a desktop card. In any case, if there is going to be a 220M, I think it'll be a slower clocked 230M.

Well forgive me for doubting you , nicksti. Xotic has the F50sf in stock as of Monday it appears. They list it with the 220M as well.

    Here's the A1 model: http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-f50sfa1-p-2606.html

I'm surprised at how this gpu has gone under the radar.

A DDR2 again for the GPU? :( Seems it's not available yet...tried clicking on customize but the loaded page says product not found.

well.. the 120M isn't on nvidia's website either...

I suppose its a rebranded 120M? since it runs on DDR2?

No, I don't think so since 200M GPUS (Except 260M & 280M) are based on a new core. A downclocked 230M is a good guess, and to bring the price down ASUS used DDR2 instead of DDR3 or GDDR3.

I can understand the smaller notebooks are coming with a 1366 x 768 resolution(12 to 14"), but can someone give me a good explanation why a 16" notebook with a decent GFX card would have one too?!?!

We as consumers need to go on strike more often.

    Lol we do.

Dont worry im thinking there may be a higher version. As the G60 i believe will have a 1080 option. I know the G51V does do 1080. Then again this notebook is aimed at a more budget/mid range oriented buyers so there may not be a better option.

I'm thinking of getting this one as it fits perfectly into my budget.

Good thing I waited a little bit; thought of getting the F50SV-A1 but this one has a bit faster CPU. Too bad it still has the same chipset (low battery). :( Oh well, I will be plugged in 99% of the time so that doesn't bug me much.
