Hi,
I was wondering if you could please help me with the issues am having at the moment with my Asus F5RL
The laptop is running Win Vista and got an Intel T5550 processor, 2gb Ram and 160gb hard drive. I bought it around mid 2008.
The issue am having at the moment is that the laptop is running at quite high temperature when set on High Performance setting and this is what it has always been on through out its life and always been plugged on AC with the battery out except when out.
I used CPUID Hardware Monitor to see what the temperature is inside
I got the following reading off it
Thrm Min 58c Max 71c
Core #0 Min 57c Max 69c
Core #1 Min 56c Max 69c
HDD Min 51c Max 52c
Most of the heat seems to be coming from the hard disk area since the laptop is sitting on the Logitech N100 cooler and with a single its only the middle top section receiving cold air.
Any idea what could be causing the overheating and is that related to the laptop shutting down by itself? It would make a loud whinning sound from the laptop like a jet taking offand would just shut down if i switch it on straight away it would either shut down on the asus logo or Windows log on screen.
That really bugs me at the moment as I was thinking of giving it away to my cousin as I got a new laptop and would really like to get it sorted before i give it to him.
Cheers

Try cleaning out your fan/vent area since it may be clogged with dust.
If that's not the problem, listen to your fan for any rattling/grinding sounds, it may be a dying fan.
Your temps for the CPU aren't too much of a concern. tjmax for your CPU is 100C.

What is your GPU load temp?
