    Asus F8 AC adapter problems

    Hey all, I think I may have damaged my laptop. I left my AC adapter at school, so I have been using another ac adapter I had lying around that had the same voltage and adapter (19v) but not enough current (3.16A vs 4.74A). I only used this adapter to charge the battery while the laptop was off, but now the laptop won't recognize the correct (original) ac adapter. Is there anything I can do, maybe buy a new battery or fiddle with the bios? My friend has the same laptop, if I try his battery in my computer with the correct ac adapter, will it damage his battery? I know what I did was stupid.

    If you used the low-amp adapter just to charge your laptop's battery while it is off, that should not cause any problems at all. It is not using 90W just to charge the battery alone. That sounds like purely coincidence...
