Hi,
I'm looking at the F8 series and I found 3 versions quite interesting and I would like to know if anyone owns any of these or would have any comment :

Also as a general question did anyone manage to get the battery life to 3h ? Any news of a future 9cell or improved 6cell batteries ?
From current owner, what battery life do you get while watching DVD ? I have read the reviews stating around 1h45min ...
Which graphic card do you think could give me the more battery life the Nvidia or the ATI ?
Will the T9300 CPU drain more than a T8300 ??
Cheers.

Hey Greg_InOZ,
I know this reply is rather late.
I do not (yet) own any of these.
However, I can tell you that the F8SP performs worse than the F8SN and that the F8VA is the successor of the F8SN, although the F8VA graphics card performs slightly worse than the one from the F8SN.
As far as I read elsewhere, the Nvidia should give you about 12-15 minutes more battery life (although it performs better than the ATI; I know it's weird). -
Hi xnbr,
thanks a lot for these info. I have decided to wait a bit and see in september what I can find ... there should be a good number of models out and a good number of people who have tried/reviewed them.
Cheers,

Hey Greg, I got my F8SN today and it's working like a charm, for 1000$ I am more than pleased. If you don't mind a high gloss finish(Finger Print magnet) it's a great buy.
Here's my quick review:
Pro's:
-Once I cleaned all the bloatware and made some changes the computer ran very well.
-I heard Asus has good cooling solutions so yeah...
-The screen is crisp and clear.(As long as you don't mind being in the right viewing angle.)
-In my opinion it's light and stylish.
- 5 USB ports!
Con's:
-The buttons for right/left clicking makes an akward noise. (Easy fix, get a mouse)
I've only used it for a day so it's pretty limited. There is a review of an F8 series model which gives a good idea of how this laptop acts.
