the left side. You won't feel vibrations an the touchpad gets warmer thanthe palmrest. In fact, both side feel like they're about as warm, and both are definitly cooler than the touchpad.

Cori meant redirecting the airflow, not completly blocking it. But yes, it will make it hotter.
-
Ah, ok. Redirecting it wouldn't make it too much hotter, I assume.
-
Nah, a few degrees. Depends on at what you redirect. The more you angle away, the more air redirected back into the fan.

You're such an excellent drawer cori. Really top notch. They should hang that drawin in the Louvre.

I see sh..t on this picture, nevertheless I got the idea
BTW. My F8 is @ customs right now -
Cool. It's quite thick for a 14", though, when you have it in your hands, especially compared to a W3J

i live in the US, which websites have them for preorder already (with free shipping)?

here you go, for you non believers........
It really works, just high enough to deflect over your hand and its far enough away from the vent to not affect tempsAttached Files:

Nice drawing, cori. Maybe you should have added in a simulation for the direction of airflow, in green, to make your picture that much more complete, colourful, confusing, and convoluted
(isn't alliteration grand?

I just noticed this thread just today... so my question I guess is the same as the post above me (not that one, nope, that one). Is this going to be available here in North America? The HD2600 version with TV tuner I mean.
-
This version?

EDIT: I did not notice how old this thread is, sure a lot of the confusion on this model is cleared up now. hehe -
Since the F8 has been out for a few weeks now, I wanted to know if anyone discovered any differences between an Asus F8 with the HD2600 and the 8600M GT?
I read somewhere on the forums that the HD 2600 may run cooler, but it isn't as energy sufficient as the 8600M GT. What does that statement really mean? Does it mean that although the HD 2600 runs cooler, it eats more battery than the 8600M GT?
If both video cards were to run stock, in terms of graphics, which would perform better? -
There are HD2600 vs 8600m GT threads out there in pretty much all the branded forums, and these all work at around the same speed.
The HD 2600 is slightly slower, slightly less battery consumption and runs cooler.
The 8600m GT is slightly faster, consumes more battery and runs hotter.
All in all the difference is very small between the 2, the performance difference lies in the memory flavor whether its DDR2 or DDR3 and core and memory frequencies on individual laptop models, but a general consensus agrees that the Nvidia Driver support is more complete at the time being.
