Asus F8Sa or F3Sa please help me to decide if someone have insight in those two models.
On a first look, looks like there is no difference but size: F8Sa=14" S3Sa15"

    From my perspective:
    F8Sa
    Pros:
    - Size (14")
    - 5 USB Ports

    Cons:
    - Screen Resolution: 1280 x 800

    F3Sa:
    Pros:
    - Screen Resolution 1440x900

    Cons:
    - Only 3 USB ports
    - Size (15")

It's a really tough one for me.
Price is about the same for the both, as the other specifications.

I would like to know if is there any other differences between those two, like mother board, RAM that they use, CPU or difference in graphic cards (both holds ati HD 2600)

    Here are the product pages:
    Asus:
    F8Sa:

    F3Sa:

    And from Newegg.com:
    F8Sa:

    F3Sa:

ANY HELP TO DECIDE IS MUCH APPRICIATED.

f8sa-b1 is due in mid december (eta), that will ship with 1440*900

itll cost around 2000 more (usd) than the a1 model, and ship with a slightly faster processor, same everything else

You mean $200 more, if it is $2000 more, I stay with a low rez screen and use that $2000 to buy myself a G1S

The F8SA or F8SV is smaller and thus lighter and not much more expensive than the F3SA and thus I would take it over the F3SA

    I don't think so.
    If Asus F8Sv-B1 is $1,549.00
    http://www.excaliberpc.com/ASUS_F8SV-B1_Intel_Core_2_Duo_T7700/partinfo-id-583341.html
Then Asus F8Sa-B1 should be even a bit cheaper.

Anyway thanks for the info, much appreciated.

I bought two F8SV-A1s recently and have been extremely pleased, it is a very good laptop for the money. Just my $.02

I've had my F8SA for just under a week now, and I'm quite happy.

The thing is, you can get caught in the trap of waiting for the next best thing forever. There's always something new coming around the corner.

I'd get the F8Sa. Its really much better than the F3 in terms of styling and build quality, not to mention that its much smaller and lighter as well.

As for waiting for the B1 model (if thats actually coming stateside), that really depends on how important the extra pixels really are. I'd save the cash, personally, but it all depends on what your preferences are.

For those F8 series owners out there:

What is the screen like? I've heard that the horizontal viewing angles aren't much chop. Is that true?

    Cheers,
