I was using my laptop last night when firefox froze up on me...nothing was working so I manually shut it down. Upon bootup I see a windows loading file screen for a few secs then after about a minute it goes to a windows startup recovery screen..so I pick this option...it finds that there was a problem and it starts trying to resolve the issue. The message says it could take over an hour so I decide to leave it over night. When I woke up this morning it was the same screen...no difference so I manually shut off my laptop. Can someone explain why this happened to me and what is the best next step? The laptop is 1.5 yrs old so it is still under warranty. Any advice would be really helpful?
Thanks.

Update: laptop is being sent to Asus for repair. They mentioned that they may have to replace the hard drive, out of curiousity if they do how do they dispose the old drive, should I be concerned as I have lots of personal info on there...should I change passwords on my emails etc...cause I was still logged in on most of my accounts?
Thx.
