Hello. Could anyone suggest if the price of (Unit 2) worth the upgrade in processor and HDD? If the processor speed won't make a big difference, I would opt to just buy an external HDD.
The main applications that I use presently are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and MS Office. No 3D works.
Asus F8VR (Unit 1):
C2D P8400 2.26GHz, 1066FSB
4GB DDR2 800 RAM
160GB HDD
14.1" WXGA, 1280x800
256MB ATI HD3470
Price: US$ 1,230.81
Asus F8VR (Unit 2):
C2D P8600 2.40GHz, 1066FSB
4GB DDR2 800 RAM
250GB HDD
14.1" WXGA, 1280x800
256MB ATI HD3470
Price: US$ 1,379.77
Thanks.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Depending on how intensely you use Photoshop, the cpu could make a slight difference, but whether it would amount to more than a few seconds time for any given filter is probably debatable.
If your budget allows for it, spend the $150 and get the second unit's cpu and larger HDD, since a 250/320GB hdd will be $100+ if you bought it separately and then you still have get the external enclosure before you can clone it over..... for essentially the same final price you can have the cpu bump for free. -
Is this laptop being sold? Where is it for sale?
