I am attempting to install Microsoft Office 2007, I keep getting an error message that says the following:

"Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. Run Setup again from the original source disc or download location."

I am attempting to run the setup directly from a disc I purchased from my local university. Anyone know why I am getting this error?

Problem solved for Susan, she had exact same problem trying to install office ultimate 2007.

swap another disk dosn't fix it, it's the Nero causing the problem, we update Nero and she can now install the software.

Yes, Ken is absolutely right. The Nero update made it work just fine. Many kudos and props to Ken!

After some sleuthing on the internet, I was able to determine 2 things. First, it was Nero 7 Essentials causing the problem. Since the Nero software was included in my purchase, I deleted the trial version and the install was able to proceed without further interruption. Second, was a problem stemming from the trial version of Office 2007 that comes with Vista. Some forums (and the software center where I purchased my disc) advise deleting the trial version off the system prior to installing the purchased copy. I tried this first, but it was Nero that was the actual problem.
