It is kind of silly question, but... why is the flashing lights in my G1 keeps flashing between now and then? I don't play games.

Does anybody know when these flashing lights turn on? can I set it up to flash when I receive emails for example? is there any other use of these lights other than games?

Not entirely sure, but I believe it is GPU dependent, but from what I have heard they can be shut off.

It is triggered by DirectX. Something you are doing is using DX.

ra990 is correct, it will flash when DirectX is being used.

As stated in the manual and by RA990 and Airman, the lights indicate DirectX is in use. This can be shut off using DirectConsole. On mine at least these lights will flash when I watch a DVD.

AFAIK WMP uses DX at least when visualizations are in use...

Neato! :) I'll be using WMP instead of Winamp just to show-off my cool green lights!

...in the future, when I have a G1...
