Asus G1 Owner's Lounge

Unless, I'm mistaken, we've been using the review thread as an Owner's Lounge, but there are a lot of other questions on there about buying different models, etc.

If the powers-that-be approve, I think we should have a lounge of our own.

 

The review thread was merged into the G1 owner's lounge...so that thread is officially the G1 Lounge.

The G1 Lounge has been there roughly 2 weeks before the review came out, and it was a nice idea to merge them together, because it is a very popular laptop.

 

That's reasonable, except the name. When you see all the other owner's lounges, it makes you search for the G1's, and the review thread doesn't come up. I wonder if it could be renamed to where review and owner's lounge are in the title?

 

Yes that would be more appropriate in my opinion aswell. You would need to contact a Moderator to adjust that. I'm sure they will happily do so.

 

Hey Guys, I just got my Asus G1 about a week ago and overall I'm really pleased with it but I've got some Q's that maybe you guys can help me with.

1. Is there a way to shut off the power and wifi lights? When I watch a movie in a dark room they are annoying. On my old laptop (emachines m6805) there was a fn key for such an option.

2. I know that there has been discussion about writing a new program to control the direct console, has anyone done something like that. I would like to see instant messages from trillian etc on the OLED if possible??

3. Does anyone know of a way to change the hotkeys, I want the "PWR" button on the bottom to open itunes rather than WMP, and the play button to open bsplayer instead of ASUSDVD??

This is my third time posting these questions. Can someone at least say that they dont know of any solutions? Does nobody else have such problems??
