I have an Asus G1-S with Vista and the 7700 2.4ghz processor.

My windows media player no longer works, my realplayer barely works, and my VLC player works but with no sound.

It was working fine just a few days ago and now theres no sound from anything other than windows sounds (clicking, youtube, thatvideosite). I have not installed anything new on my notebook.

I am REALLY REALLY hesitant to reformat this notebook because it would just take alot of time and really piss me off ot hasve to reinstall all my games.

Has anybody here ran into this no sound issue on their G1-S before? Im sorry that I cannot be more detailed of this problem but I literally have no idea how it happened.

Windows says all the volumes are set to max. yet windows media player, realplayer, and VLC player all have no sound. Games also have no sound.

Warcraft III and Call of Duty 4 both have no sound. yet when i goto youtube, i have sound.

any advice?!!? i could really use it

did u change ur soundcard default device? ok try this right click the speaker icon or go to control panel and select sound than check if the "speakers" is set as default, if the Realtek Digital Output is set as default just right click the "speakers" and set as default.
