    Hey guys, I just wanted to know if anyone has upgraded their G1s to an Intel X9000. I was thinking upgrading my cpu. I wanted to know the drawbacks of this cpu except the heat. thanks

    Do you expect major frame rate gains? And X9000 will be severly bottle necked by your GPU..

    :p and the fact that an X9000 is not very effective but for a select few things unless you have a 8800m GTX SLI setup

    I was just looking for better encoding speeds etc. I just play Counter-strike: source which is a pretty old game. I was just looking an upgrade to the 45nm tech. I found that the X9000 was running around for 300 to 400 dollars.

    i would say more like 450$
    while a t9300 is almost 50% less, outside of synthetic benchmarks the difference will be minimal.

    just my thoughts, no facts stated.
