Hello,
I've been having problems lately with playing DVD movies. Playback stutters constantly and keeps loading every few seconds. I'm pretty sure I don't have any viruses/malware on my system. This problem began like a week ago.
Another problem is most of the times I try to run the built-in webcam, my pc freezes and I have to manually turn off the laptop to restart.
Do you guys use the Asus Live Update thingy to update your systems regularly? I disabled mine because it messed up my pc once (after an update) and I had to use the recovery disc to format my system. After formatting I never updated my Asus BIOS/software. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problems I'm having... Anyway, Does anyone know what might be the problem?
Thanks!

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
LiveUpdate has a deserved reputation for a) never being up-to-date or able to pull things from Asus' servers, and b) screwing people's systems up... delete it completely.
As for your playback issues, is your wireless connected while this is happening? Something on your G1 trying to connect to the Net could cause these symptoms, as could other installed software (including certain anti-virus functions, spyware that has snuck in, some other software update feature) stealing cpu cycles. Check through the task manager for any processes besides the dvd playback software that are running higher than 5-10% when the problem occurs, and then backtrack from there if any are found. Also probably a good idea to run a spyware and virus scan if you haven't lately to check for problems that might have crept in - there are free alternatives if you don't have a commercial product installed.
Does the webcam ever work after the restart, or always locks your system up and that's it? If the latter, you might try to reinstall the webcam drivers.
