I was just browsing the Asus DOwnload page for drivers for my motherboard for my PC and decided to checkout what their driver support was like for the Asus G1/S line of notebooks as I am seriously considering one.

It seems like on their download page they have alot of Vista drivers, even for the little lcd screen, but they are all for 32 BIT Vista. How about 64 bit? Not a single driver on that page is for 64 bit. Does it mean the Asus G1 and G1s notebooks have no 64bit drivers? Because usually stuff like their memory card reader, the expresscard slot, tv tuner, usually require drivers from manufacturers because they are never built into windows, even windows vista.

Any G1 or G1s users running Vista x64 and been able to find all drivers for all the notebooks components? As this would be a deal breaker for me as I have an Acer right now and like the card reader and bluetooth dont work in Vista 64bit right now which kinda sucks and I need 64bit as I run alot of vmware machines on linux 64 bit and windows 64bit server for my work.

Considering you can get Vista Ultimate x64 preinstalled they must have them.

Lets just hope its not an evil way to force you to buy there Vista Ultimat for the drivers CD.

I'll have to look into it in more detail as I plan to run home premium x64 on mine. Maybe all there x86 drivers are x64 compatible. They dont always have to be seperate.

i checked each driver out, they are all 32 bit drivers, not a single 64 bit driver in there. Unless the driver cd that comes with the laptop has 64bit drivers maybe? I dunno.

Drivers for x86 also work in x64 alot of times. They do not have to be totally seperate drivers.

This is due to the fact that to run drivers on the x64 platform of windows vista the drivers all have to be certified by microsoft. This is rarely done so most features on the laptop wont work. I personally dont recommend getting the 64 bit version because of this. If you need to know more just google 64bit vista drivers and you will see what im talking about.
