You have to make sure that your router is set to 'discoverable' - if it isn't, you're going to need the SSID, and connect manually.

Alternatively, you should make sure that your wifi is in fact on. Hit fn+f2 until you get the right setting.

Let me start with the obvious stuff... is the wireless adapter turned on? There should be a LED on the computer for wireless, if that one is off then your wireless is powered down. There is a FN+F key combination to turn it on, usually; perhaps also a hotbutton.

Just to mention, I'm running Windows XP, when I toggle the WLAN ON with Fn+F2, it doesn't really turn the WiFi module on, it only enables/disables the appropriate network adapter. To really turn ON the WiFi I have to open the IntelĀ® PROSet/Wireless Software and click on a dropdown box selecting ON/OFF. I just checked the version, it's probably the latest - 11.5. I have this issue (can't really call it a problem) since I installed XP so I assume it's supposed to be this way.

In Vista everything works fine, Fn+F2 toggles thru WiFi/Bluetooth correctly
