Would you mind turning this into a master thread? meaning list the G2S-A1 with prices and links and also the various C90S sellers?

I think that would be helpful to everybody

    List is looking good!

Is there any option to rename the original thread name with the new one coz it still seems to say 'Asus G1s: Places to buy (US)' instead of the 'Asus G1S & G2S: Places to buy with prices ' ??

There is a list of dealers in the FAQ, you may want to check them out as well.

this is definitely helpful for people looking to buy the G1s any time soon. you should probably also list (if you can find out) if the sites have them in stock or on back-order.

Lagoom raised the price on the G1s and also took away the free shipping (Probably because it was selling so well).

I've ordered mine from XoticPC. Apparently it's going to take 3-5 days to ship because I got the 7200RPM hard drive and the testing takes up to 72 hours..
Whatever, at least I know it will work ;P

there are a lot of dangers buying asus notebooks from the froogle list.

Dont look for the lowest price on the internet, look at the asus dealers list here and look for the lowest price on there.

Even something that is legitimate like buy.com or ewiz.com which are drop shipment businesses have no problem with making you wait months.

Youre shopping for the wrong model to do that, youre getting something brand new in short supply. It cant even possibly work out theyre going to try to stick you with a g1p.

I totally agree. The stores i list are actual retailers that carry stock. Theres too many e-tailers that are just handlers that rely on real retailers for stock.

Most asus dealers are actually drop shippers. It is easy to tell by the description. When they have a short paragraph describing the product it means it is pulled directly from distribution. there are few exceptions

if you are inj california and you buy from california then you pay cali tax. you have to buy outside of california to avoid sales tax.

Try clicking on all the links supplied on page one of this thread and look up the G1. If they carrying the G1S im sure a few of them may have the G1 in stock or have access to it and am probably eager to liquidate them.

Im sure Infonec had it for $1800cdn, give Tommy a call there

I'm interested in getting the Asus G1S-A1 from xoticpc, the only reason being that they are the only vendor I've seen so far that offers the Windows XP option. I've read a lot of do-it-yourself posts regarding installing XP on your own on this forum, but I am hoping to find a place that sells it with XP already installed, so I wouldn't have to go through all the trouble. Unfortunately xoticpc is not exactly the cheapest place. Does anyone know other vendors who offer the XP option as well?

On the contrary it is very difficult to install mainly becuase the the sata controller has no support by xp thus when you try to install it tells you there is no hard drive present. Using ntune to slipstream your xp with a few needed drivers would correct the issue. Any dealer offering xp with a 965pm chipset either does not know this yet or has taken specific measures to ensure the customer had enough documentation to get him through a reinstallation if one is ever needed
