When doing intensive things with the GPU, how hot does your card get? RivaTuner is telling me 90+ degrees celsius, no matter what I use it with, and I know that is far, far too hot. Something has to be wrong with a fan or something, right?

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
No. 90C gpu in a notebook, at load, is normal -- especially when you're pushing it heavily. At idle or when just surfing, well, that's another story for another time
.
You could clean out the radiator fins and fan if you've never done, that could help a bit. -
Also i suggest that you lift the back end of the notebook as someone else told me about..
Lift up the back like a 2 inches or so with a book or something, and it does cool it down quite a bit...
You could always gete a notebook cooler fan too if you have the money for it -
The G1S are notorious for higher temps. 90C is pretty normal for you, some users hit 105C often.
The card can take it, although I don`t know about the notebook itself.
A good cooling pad or notebook cooler and undervolting the cpu might decrease the heat a bit. -
But cleaning the heatsink as ClearSkies suggested may still not be a bad idea if the notebook is older than a few months.
-
I'd just need to do some unscrewing and hit it with a compressed air can, right?
-
It's better if you access the heatsink directly. If you're lucky, the fan is accessible via a panel on the bottom of the notebook. Look for that panel, remove it, remove the FAN, and you should see the heatsink ventilation grill/fins. Clean both the fan and the heatsink fins with q-tips or something similar.
This only works on some computers, I'm not sure the G1 is one of them. On other computers it's more complicated.
There is a guide on cleaning an ASUS computer following the outline I gave above, on the Info Booth. -
I do believe around 20C -
Sure, if the heatsink was clogged the drop can be as high as that. It's always a good idea to regularly clean your notebook.
