I have some questions regarding the Asus G1S

    1. Does it come with vista installed? If it is, can I uninstall it and put XP on it?
    2. I've heard about some "bloatware" that slows down the performance of the laptop, what is bloatware and how can I get rid of it?
    3. Does it have the same speed as Asus G2?

    1. Yes, and yes.
    2. Bloatware is al the junk software which comes preloaded, and which degrade the performance of a new machine. Either you can uninstall the softwares which you don't need one by one, or you can do a clean install of the OS.
    3. Yes, the G1S and G2S are identical apart from the screen. If you are talking about the original G2, it's much more powerful than that.

The graphics capability of the G2S is approximately twice that of the G2

You will probably need to download all of the XP drivers to install if you do this, rather than use the recovery/driver CD which will only have the updated Vista drivers.

It is possible that some of the original G1 XP drivers may not full address upgrades in the Santa Rosa platform of the G1S and you may end up with bits that work inconsistently or not at all. I don't think anyone here has one yet and has tried back-installing XP.

The G2S has the 8600M GT, while the G2P had the X1700. In 3Dmark'06, the 8600GT scores more than twice the X1700. And it's also dx10 compatible.
