Bought the lovely Laptop couple days ago. Loving it so far with Gaming, watching movies. Perfect Laptop. Only problem? The internet during games. Dear god. Ex. is on Quake 3 Arena when im playing Online, even offline. I get massive lag Spikes, not FPS Drops, i get 450+ steady all the time, quite nice actually. What happens is when im playing online and all this action is going on, my PC starts to lag, pause for a few quick seconds and I see all the spikes on my Lagometer on the bottom of the screen. I was in Vista, lagged. Im in XP Pro now, still lagging. I upgraded the BIOS, Video Drivers, everything. Im lagging and im getting pretty mad actually.

Fyi: Im on a wired Cable connection. I do not get these lag spikes on my Desktop PC (Through Router) and i get the spikes even when all other PC's are off.

Any suggestions on what is causing the problem of the in-game lag? The internet is fine outside the Game and this happens on ANY game i install.

Not sure what the problem is, but I play a lot of Team Fortress 2 with wifi and I don't have any problems. Playing w/ most of the settings turned up (I don't recall them at the moment.) I can the pings in game and on the right servers, I'm getting around 30-40...

Do you have any security programs running while playing the game? I would try to disable those and see if it helps.

Also, what are you temps when playing games?

I have no security Programs what so ever. Im trying to be a RAM Lover here and conserve as much as possible. As for the Temp let me check on em.

68C+. Gets pretty hot up in there.

Im dead sure its not on. Ive disabled the Firewall through services and disabled it through control panel. Its not even running in the background.

Been working with my PC for years and i know when its off lol.

Another thing is when i go online with the Lappy, i get 20-30 more ping on all servers which is a bit odd. I can deal with the Lap Spikes but if someone can help me with the Ping issue, it be helpful.
