I'm have a dilemma atm and I was wondering if any of y'all could help me out.
I'm looking to buy a new G1S-X1 or X3 but I don't know if the X3 would be worth it. I can get the X1 for $750 and the X3 for $820. The only difference in the specs that I saw was that the X1 came with a C2D T7300 (2ghz) while the X3 came with a T7500 (2.2ghz). Is it worth the extra $70 to pick up the X3? I'm planning to use this laptop for simple things (Word processing/internet) on top of some games (WoW/Guild Wars 2 when it comes out).
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot guys.![]()

Here are some tips to help you get answers and to help us here help you:
1. Don't do a direct copy of specs of a notebook. If you don't feel like typing out all the specs, then list some and give a link to the specs.
2. Skip lines. This makes reading easier.
3. I understand that you are new to NBR. I believe you meant GHz instead of gb for the processor speeds.
4. Since you are posting this in the ASUS forum here on NBR, I do not think you will get many replies about the Toshiba. Make a separate post about the Toshiba in the Toshiba forum on NBR.

I would go with the X3 because the T7500 has twice the L2 Cache as the T7300. The extra 200 GHz will help with games. For $70, might as well go with the laptop that has the better processor.
If you are looking to play WoW/Guild Wars 2, might want to go for a laptop with a more powerful graphics card because I do not think the 9500GS will have enough juice for Guild Wars 2. Sure you could play at low settings, but personally (Guild Wars player myself) I would want to crank up the detail. -
Ahhh. You are right. The T7300 does have 4MB L2 Cache. In that case, buy the cheaper one. But if you really want to game, I would suggest you buy a laptop with a newer graphics card.
9800M GTS, 9800M GTX, 9700M GT etc. -
I don't know if it's worth it or not -- it might be. Certainly not for desktop use, but maybe in some new, CPU-intensive games (although there are few of those, and more often than not the bottleneck is the GPU).
But after all, it is a 10% improvement for only 70USD difference. If it were more than 100USD, I'd say there is no point, but 70 is not really that much. So unless your funds are limited, maybe you can just buy the better CPU.
