Hi, I've got a driver related problem with my laptop. A couple of months ago, my G1S died as the graphics chipset died. They replaced the motherboard to the newer G1Sn (not so new anymore) which had the 9500GS chipset if I'm not mistaken.

Since they changed my motherboard to the G1Sn, I still retain the G1S driver CD which has all the drivers in it. I effectively forgotten about that and I reinstalled vista. So the driver CD couldnt work as it is not programmed to work on my laptop. I am left to download the drivers from the website but I only want to know which is the important drivers that I should download.

Video card driver should be the most important, you can download it from nVidia's website to get the latest drivers, Asus's driver is out dated.

I've got another problem. Sometimes when I move my USB which is plugged in (eg. the mouse), not take it out, the whole system just shuts down. I have to unplug the power and replug it back for it to be able to startup again. I'm just wondering whether it is a harddrive problem, a USB problem or the mouse problem..

This sounds like a hardware issue. It can be a short-circuit, that will cause the computer to fully shutdown like that. I suggest don't use that USB port (or does it do this for multiple ports?)

Is it just with the mouse, or other things?

So far it only works with the mouse in the USB port that I always plug my mouse in.
