They have different....screen sizes, native resolutions, color scheme, weight (G2 is 2.75LBS heavier)

That is about it that I know of. G2 will play games better at native resolution, 1920x1200 is too high of a resolution for the 8600gt in my opinion. So based off that I would get teh G1

Ok, If I was you I would based this more upon what your needs are. Do you want a 15.4" notebook with a great screen, and portable enough to carry around? Possibly school (if anyone has the courage)? Work? Travel a lot?

Or will you be using the the laptop mainly at home and only moving around the house, upstairs to downstairs, every now and then LAN parties, friends house and such.

So if you fall in the first category, get the G1S, if you fall in the second category get the G2S. If you fall in between well, you will need other deciding factors like the features of the laptops to pick a laptop.

The G1, definitely. It does everything that the G2 does, but its more portable and cheaper. The screen res isn't as high, but its smaller so pixel density is nearly the same.

Size will probably be your main deciding factor. Some of us are just bigger ;)

    Ooh wait, I have a G1S...doh I fall in the "smaller" group....hahaha

    All joking aside...you'll love the G1S :)
