I am using XP with nvidia drivers I obtained from Coldsoul's drivers package http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=130219. The drivers are dated 4/26/2007, version 6.14.11.6002. When I watch any type of video on full screen, I can occasionally see that the playback is not smooth. I can see it slightly skip (ie. smooth camera panning). However, when it is at normal size, I don't experience this problem. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have an idea to resolve this issue?

What program are you using? Do you have the right codecs? I recommend VLC and Windows Media Player Classic for playing movies, they are the best in my opinion.

When you get these occasional parts where the playback is not smooth, could there be something in the background running causing this? Because playing movies in non full screen takes less ram and HD usage, compared to using it in full screen.

Does this happen to all of your movies, or just this one in particular?

This happens with any video I have. I would like to say that it should be called a half-a-second stutter in playback instead of "choppy." It's slightly noticeable. I am positive that I can rule out any background programs that may be the root of the problem. I am using media player classic that came with Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP). I did not notice it stutter when viewing with windows media player, however, so I downloaded the second update following the current CCCP I had been using and now my videos don't seem to have any more problems. Thank you; I appreciate the time and help you offered.

Hey man do you mean you successfully installed XP on your G1s without any problems at all? As in no drivers problems etc.?

I wanted to buy the Asus G1S notebook . As far as i know the OS is placed in a seperate partition in the Hard disk and not with a seperate OS disc .
    Is this true? .

I wanted to upgrade the hard disk by placing Seagate Momentus 7200.2 160GB hard disk instead of the existing 5400rpm hard disk . If i upgrade then the Original OS would be of no use if it is in a separate partition in the hard disk .

People who bought this laptop pls help
