    Besides battery life being on the short side, I heard there's a problem when it's not 100% charged. Laptop performance is halved or something like that. Any truth to this?

    Er, yes. When your using the laptop below 90% the CPU is downclocked due to a BIOs bug. However, there is a fix for it. Check out the G1s Resource Thread before asking this question. :)

    In puppetmaster696's defence, I can see why he (or any other new user) wouldn't want to look at the resource thread first; the damn thing's massive. However, have he have done a search, he should know there are shorter thread that have covered this topic.. some of which are on the front page :)

    To make it even more useful, here's the fix:

    You have to disable certain things from RMClock (Thermal Monitor 1 and 2, Advanced CPU Settings tab). Supposedly safe to a large extent, but do your own research on it before using it with care.
