Hello all, I got me a used Asus G2p just acouple days ago. Nice laptop and everything works fine on it.
I went and purchased 2 2gig Kingston HyperX 667 ram sticks. Ive tried everyway i can think of installing them and all the laptop sees is 2.4 gigs of ram.

I tried the 2gig stick alone under the keyboard and 1 gig orig in back and vis versa and still the same amt of ram is shown.

I know it wont see all of the 4gig butI would expect it would at leats see 3gigs or 3.2

What am i missing?? anything in BIOS i have to change?

    thanks in advance

It's a BIOS limitation, and is nothing you can change - you can try updating to the latest BIOS from Asus for the G2 series to see whether that fixes the problem, but it might not.

It's actually a vista issue. I have same ram in my GSS. BIOS will read the full 4gb however when Vista 32bit loads up, it will read 2.5-3gb only. This is the 32bit limitation of windows. IIRC, SP1 corrects this to show a full 4gb in vista, but the system can still only utilize the lesser amount.
