Does the resolution make that big of a deal in terms of playing MMORPGS such as WOW and Guild Wars. On this laptop i plan to do some Photosshop and Visual Basic editing and plan to play MMORPGS. Anything such as Crysis and COD4 and other related games i wont play because i have a PS# so does the resolution matter.
also does the processor have a L3 Cache with #mb because the Best buy site has 2mb but ive seen processors of the same type with 3mb

The resolution will matter for games, yes. The higher the better. And for photoshop as well you would want the most space as possible on the screen, so i dont think that res will be very good for you.
THIS is basically the same notebook, just a few different specs and a higher res. It will cost you some extra money, but it is still a great deal. -
How often do you need to travel? I always have a 19" LCD connected when at home. If you travel a lot, this may not work for you.

It's a 3MB cache chip, CPU-z confirms. Best Buy's page is wrong.

A warning about the best buy laptop. I have seriously thought of purchasing that to replace my dead C90 but I will not get the best buy variant, even if it is 1000$. Why? Asus provides a very very generous amount of warranty and services to all new laptops purchased since sept. 2007. However, this does not apply to any laptops purchased from circuit city, best buy, or micro center stores. Any other store, on line or brick and mortar, is eligible. Going through the nightmare of "broken computer that is no longer in warranty" and the even worse part of "realizing the part needed to fix computer has a design flaw which is why it broke in first place" I will say that it is worth the extra 350$ and going to a black/red scheme instead of the very modern silver to have the faith that if this computer arrives broken, it will be replaced very quickly without fuss and that if I have any unforseen issues down the road that Asus has my back. You really really really don't want geek squad touching your stuff to repair it.
Also for the record, I am looking at either the G50 from newegg for 1350 or possibly the new MSI notebook with the sweet touchbar and HD3850 for 1100. But I'm leaning towards the Asus because...well it's just better. -

If it's under 1500 I shall take a look at the MSI with the 4850. The 9800gs has proven superior to the 3850 but the asus does cost more and I prefer Asus models because the fit and finish tends to be higher but I shall indeed use the free market to spend my money to tell best buy where they can stick their crappy customer service (hint: it's where their head has also been shoved up)

The resolution is fine for playing WoW on, by the way.
Everyone just seems to be obsessed with high resolution displays for tiny laptop screens, for some reason. -
Whats wrong with geek squad?

Honestly, all "support" that isn't you is a random die roll.
Best Buy has a nice policy up to 30 days where you just walk it in and get a new one... this is very nice as this is the time period in which it usually fails unless it is something stupid YOU did.
After 30 days its about purchasing support with it... but note that's someplace where you can talk directly to a manager.
If you are really planning on tossing a drink on it or had many laptops fail on you after 30 days then by all means pay the extra $150-200 or so for the 4 year warranty from BB or get it elsewhere.
Note, I am not bashing ASUS's support... I am saying BB's support can be just fine as well as long as you understand what you are getting and what you paid for.
As for the screen, its just fine.
1440x900 or 1680x1050 would have been better, but honestly it works just fine.
