Hello, I've been reading as much as I can about the Asus G50V Laptop, and as far as I can tell, most (if not all) users have issues with CPU usage, stuttering, and various other issues...

I've had to format once already, and since then I've been experiencing perhaps a crash every 2-4 days (as opposed to a crash a day before)

Just today however, whatever game I am playing (Warcraft, Fallout 3) it always crashes about 5-10 minutes in, regardless of what I'm doing (sitting in a character select screen for example)... the crashes are identical to how it normally crashes: the screen freezes, and whatever sound is playing at that point stutters and loops. As far as I can tell, whenever a game is not open, it will not crash (but I can't be certain)

I've tried various fixes posted here, I've updated my BIOS to 210, updated ATKhotkey, ATKOSD 2, removed/updated my graphics driver, updated my realtek audio drivers, running a script written by someone here which puts my touchpad processes on low priority, tried even disabling my touchpad, as well as the USB controller (something or other) but I can't figure out why this is happening so often, especially compared to before.

Also, just like before as well, all my system restore points do not work, they're corrupted (not entirely sure why). The system restore says I must check the disk for errors, and schedules one upon next restart, but restarting does nothing. Typing sfc /scannow in cmd only tells me that "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" I was hoping it's not a hardware problem because the crashes are similar to what I've seen described, except mine are happening much more frequently and reliably than ever before.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Edit: Probably unrelated, but today was the first day I brought my laptop to a lecture... kept it on power saving mode, and just used it to take down notes... I imagine this is unrelated but what do I know?

Another edit: Sometimes when it crashes, and I reboot, the computer stays on the "Republic of Gamers" logo at the start. It will not go beyond this unless I unplug the computer and remove the battery (and put it back in)

FINAL EDIT (HOPEFULLY): Just wanted to add this in case anyone finds this post later on with the same problems... I had to send my laptop in, they replaced my heatsink, motherboard, and graphics card.... seems my laptop was royally F'ed

    Bump

I'm pretty desperate :( I don't want to have to system restore everytime a problem occurs (which is fairly often)

If its crashin only in games it cud possibly b due to overheating/bad installation of the gfx drivers. If i'd b in ur place i'd try the foll..
check event log if anything comes up. If not uninstall gfx drivers. Use something like driver cleaner pro to remove all trace of those drivers. Reboot. Get latest ones from the nvidia site(which i believe u hav already). Install. Reboot. Make sure nb is a bit elevated and give it a shot. Update OS too if possible.
Still doesnt work. Use restore discs that came with the nb and update gfx drivers and reboot as reqd and c wat happens.
a farcry... Mayb its a bad harddisk/ram.. random lockups, corrupt system restore points, not booting sometimes..
If nothing is working out wouldve returned/exchanged it..
    But thats just me.. :)
