    Hi All,

I have a G50V-A1 and have encountered a strange problem. Whenever I plug headphones into the audio jack, there's a slight high pitch squealing noise in the background. It's not really noticeable when I'm playing anything loud, but between songs or when there's a quiet moment I can hear it.

If I play it through the default speakers or plug in external speakers, I can't hear it at all. Anyone have this issues too?

Yeah, some people have mentioned that, I think the solution is to try swapping around devices and usb ports or remove all usb devices if you can...

I think the sound is from wireless mouse frequency interruption. I only hear the sound when i moved my mouse.

I have no sound issues at all when USB devices are plugged in.

Thanks all, it seems that having the gaming mouse that came with g50 plugged into either of the 2 USB ports next to the audio jacks causes the noise. Not sure if it's the mouse or the USB ports, but I will test and report back.

The USB devices cause it. I have the same problem and it looks like every G50V has it. To replicate the issue just plug the Asus mouse right next to the headphone jack and plug there some headphones or an external sound system. Play any audio file and hit stop. You'll hear the high pitched nioise while moving and lifting the mouse. The noise will go away (with an annoying *pop* noise) in about 4 or 5 seconds of no audio activity on the computer (looks like the system shuts off the line-out jack).

The noise is less noticeable if you plug your mouse far from the line-out jack, like on the back on the notebook or on the left side.

Also, the type of mouse you use will affect how loud the high-pitched noise would be and its intensity. The Asus mouse causes a lot of noise constantly but a Genius mouse I use causes significantly less noise and no noise at all when it's idling (it's light reduces it's intensity when it isn't moving). The Asus mouse light never reduces it's intensity.

Anyone tried using the HDMI port to output audio? Is the high-pitched noise present thru that port?

Ok I've moved my USB Mouse receiver to left side USB port. The sound gone.
However, when I plug in my other USB Devices such as USB Card Reader, or USB Webcam into the USB port on the right hand side I still getting the noise.

So i guess this will happened with some USB Devices only.

I also tested my USB external hdd I can't hear any noise but except the pop noise like Sparky86 said.

I'll have to try mine now. My mouse was plugged into the rear USB port.
