    Thanks Mr.Lee,

Looks like the problem is solved. Normal cpu use and second display is working. Happy not to have to bring it back
Thanks a lot and you're the best

Mine would not let me flash it from any way but windows :( which I HATE and never recommend.

If I booted with F4 and had file on my c:\ I would browse to it and select it and get a message saying it could not read the contents...

I put it on a flash drive and booted up and it didnt even see my flash drive in the bios flash utility...

Had to do the winflash and I always hate those because if windows BSOD or any error while thats going on 90% of the time you can kiss that mobo bye bye...

So dunno if anyone else runs into that. I got it on and winflash said the file was fine so not sure why the boot method dont like... Only thing I can think is cuz I am raid 0 but yet it saw the file and drives...

Anyway, this didnt fix my direct console issue, still cant get the over clock to stick. :(

That's because your USB drive need to be on C:, in that case, you just need to disable both HD in the BIOS, reboot and enter EasyFlash then it'll read your USB drive as C:.

Thats funny... On desktop MB I worked on it just gave thumb drive another letter I thought but I could be mistaken.

Any idea why it wouldnt take the file on C even when I didnt have the USB in it? Saw all the files and the bios just wouldnt load it.

On a side note, my pc takes about 10 seconds longer to boot now after the flash :( but dont see any other problems. Didnt have any problems neither other than the sometimes keyboard lag for those of us that type 80+wpm and the direct console wont over clock... That didnt get fixed. Will have to give the keyboard thing some time to see.

Because in EasyFlash it only wants to read USB drive as C:, so if the hard drive is not disable in BIOS then the USB flash drive can't be seen EasyFlash.

For overclock issue, have you install the latest version of Direct Console?

Copy the BIOS file in to C:\ and use EasyFlash by press F4 during post screen.

Maybe your laptop was set on RAID and when you flash the new BIOS it change SATA controller back to Enhance mode, simply go to BIOS and change SATA settings back to RAID and it should be fine.

Yet another thanks. I was experiencing exactly the same issue, but the bios update from 207 to 209 did the trick quite nicely. I just bought it last week, and I assumed it was a Vista problem. On the upside, I've already disabled a lot of useless garbage, so not experiencing the 100% load after a cold boot is all the more sweet now.

For the more timid, I found that simply hibernating the machine rather than cold/warm booting also avoided the issue. Otherwise, I had to wait 20-30 minutes for the machine to calm down before I could do anything of value. This obviously doesn't help when you have to reboot after an update, so I'm glad it's fixed.

    Thanks again!

uhm guys.... *knock on wood* but I think I have the same problem again of high cpu load while on idle. It started a few days ago. I have been playing cod4 and cod5 and had been experiencing low fps and lag. I didn;t pay much attention because I though it was either my internet connection or the server i was on. Now i realize i have very high cpu loads while idle. Not stuck at 100%, but lets say it goes from 17% load to 98% then back down to 75% and then back up to 90% and pretty much high loads with the occasional low. I checked task manager and everything seemed pretty normal to me... only this svchost.exe windows system using up near 170k mem. and firefox using up like 100. I had installed lcdhype latest, and have tryed disabling programs running but proglem is still there I guess. any advice?

You should check what process is using a lot of / most of the CPU? The RAM usage is not in question here, I guess. (and 100MB for Firefox is normal, I guess)
