From the time of release to two days ago, the Asus G50VT-X2 was priced at $1499.99. Yesterday it was changed to $1499.99 - $50.00. Today it was changed to $1499 - $150.00.
Considering that the Asus G50V-X1 is still priced at $1499.99 - $150.00, I don't think that newegg will continue to increase the rebate.
I was hoping to purchase this laptop very soon, which could mean anywhere between tomorrow and the end of the month, but more likely a closer date. Should I wait to see if larger rebate is around the corner, or should I go ahead and buy?

For that matter, would it be a good idea to wait until Black Friday?

The rebate is probably authorized by Asus to clear out older G50 stock - it isn't likely to change much more as very quickly you're going to get under actual unit cost and NewEgg doesn't like to do that :).

It's always possible that NewEgg might run a BF promotion, but once their existing stock of old G50's is exhausted you're going to have to purchase the new one - and that very well might happen over the next 3 weeks.

I was about to buy the X2 from newegg a few days ago... sure glad I didn't. That is a sweet deal right now. I was thinking of waiting till black friday as well, but usually the really good deals are only on the lower end laptops.

Well, Newegg gets unique sku models that typically have different (lower) specs compared to Asus' regular units, so they can have more room to play with pricing. This looks like they're running a new product promotion to me..... I would say the price is unlikely to stay there as this is a brand new product.

Okay, thanks for the responses, everyone. I'll probably end up purchasing it sooner, rather than later.
