I have bought an Asus G50VT-x5 and It will come in on the 10th. I was wondering if I could upgrade to an Intel Core 2 Duo p9700 how will the laptop deal with the extra 3 watts? has anyone upgraded to a 35 Watt cpu and what are the temps? Also I just found out that the sl9600 is a soldered cpu, but I don't know how to change the name of my post. Are there any low temp(10 or 17 watt) cpu's that work in this laptop?

    Thanks

3 extra watts is nothing for this laptop, you'd be able to use any 35W cpu if you wanted. Not sure on 35W temps, though.
