It appears I am having some trouble playing Blu-Ray DVDs on my Asus G0VT-A2.
I am currently running the NVidia 179.28 Beta Drivers.
Also using the bundled software WinDVD 8 with a few problems. The Dark Knight and Dave Matthews Blu Ray playback fine, while The Hulk and Indiana Jones will not play at all. I just get a black screen with no video or sound. There is also no DVD menu. If I check the E drive is shows the title correctly and info lists as a Blu-Ray.
I also purchased and installed ArcSoft TMT and that will not work at all. I just get the black screen on every Blu Ray disc I try.
On the discs that won't play, the drive spins it up to read it, but after a few seconds the drive just stops.
I have the same problems with the stock video drivers as well.
Using AVG 8.0 and made exceptions for the Blu-Ray software.
Any suggestions? Especially on the ArcSoft TMT. Anyone using this successfully on their Asus?![]()

I spent a little bit more and got PowerDVD and it works great. I am using the new NVidia vid drivers and the latest drivers from Realtek for the audio. I have no issues at all. It could be that the Blu Ray that you are trying to play have a newer menu system and you software does not support them yet.

Just an update............I contacted Arcsoft phone customer support today. They were very nice, but useless in terms of trying to get TMT to work on my Asus. I requested a refund which they are processing.
I purchased and installed Power DVD 8 Ultra since it is currently 25% off. It works PERFECTLY on all the Blu Ray discs I tried.
I also like the user interface.
I would also highly suggest any G50VT-A2 users upgrade to the latest RealTek HD Audio Drivers (2.13). They made a DRAMATIC improvement on the overall sound level which I thought never had enough output. It's like a different set of speakers now.
I'm a happy camper now!
