Your post really tells us nothing at all. If you want help, try posting screenshots of error messages and other specifics.

I would try getting those drivers back. If everything goes to Hell you can try a Vista reinstall.

back up everything important and use the recovery discs. no point in trying to get the drivers to reinstall.

Elitehunter, it sounds like you have a corrupted OS. Try pop in your restore disk and see if you can repair your OS. If that doesn't work, you'll have to perform a clean install of Vista.

I'm not sure if you have a restore disc of your current OS or not, but usually the Asus restore function will put your OS back to factory condition which isn't always what people want.

I recommend that you use the Vista Recovery Disc for your OS which can fix the OS issues without scrapping your current software, configurations, etc.

If you are running Vista then it's Comodo. Comodo had an update a little while back that just kills a lot of things. I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out. Hopefully you are using system restore. If so, go back a few days until you remember that it was working. This will get rid of the Comodo update and the system will run like normal. If you don't have system restore, you could try uninstalling Comodo and see if that will do it. If you check the Comodo forums you can read about a lot of people having similar random problems. I did a restore and just removed Comodo since it doesn't seem like they have been able to fix it.

    Hope this helps...

Elitehunter - Glad I could help! :) It was driving me crazy for a few weeks before I finally realized exactly what was happening. At first I wasn't sure if it was a windows update or something else. Then one day everything was working fine and windows was up to date, then Comodo asked for an update. Once it rebooted my computer was done. I read up on it and figure out that Comodo and Vista just don't play nice. I'm VERY GLAD I could help! :)
