So in general my wireless connection seems to work. However I've noticed lately that whenever I first turn on the computer it has issues connecting to the internet. It says I'm connected to my wireless network however the pages don't load. If I disconnect from my network, unplug my modem & router, and then hook them back up (in order to reset them) then my computer can connect to the network and the internet works. However occasionally I still notice that my connection to the network drops in and out.

Does this seem like a problem with my computer? Or is it a problem with the modem or router? The only reason I would guess my computer is that I got this laptop a week or two ago and my old computer had no issues with my internet connection. Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Try install all the critical/important windows update on your notebook. Also try and reinstall the wifi driver. The wifi driver should be on your drivers disk, but there most likely will be a newer version on the Asus website.

If the above doesn't solve the issue, try updating your router firmware.

Wow I am also having the same problem. I just purchased my Asus G50VT-X1 off amazon last month and have only been using it with it with an Ethernet cord plugged in and didn't even realize my wireless issues. Every time I take my computer out of hibernate/standby, my wireless internet will work for about 10 mins before my webpages stop loading but it still says i'm connected. Resetting my internet router also sees to do the trick for me but alas, its just a temporary fix.

I uninstalled my wireless card 8 times now, checked windows update, and everything else I could think of but the problem is still persisting. PLEASE HELP!

I've actually noticed some of this as well. My dad has wireless at his house, so after purchasing my laptop we went to get it setup. It was a struggle at first and we had to enter the code in a few times before a connection was sustained. (Maybe we didn't have to, but that's what we ended up doing.) Although occasionally I'll still run into a connection hurdle. Usually right when I first start up or turn it back on from sleep mode. Lately I haven't bothered with resetting the router or anything like that. I just repeat disconnecting and reconnecting until it stays. Once a connection is maintained it is usually pretty fine for the most part, but if there is something that can be done to help with this problem it would be nice to hear.

Yeah, It's the same with my laptop. Once I get a connection working, its usually good until I turn off my computer or put it on standby/hibernate. Could it be a faulty wireless card?
