    I just ordered my Windows 7 upgrade for my G50VT-X5 refurb!!!!1

    To do this you must remove your battery and you will see two stickers, one by the connector to the laptop and another on the far right side (when looking at the part of the battery that faces the laptop when inseted.

    The said sticker will have something like this

    G50VT-X5
    |||| |||| ||| ||||||| ||||||| ||| ||| (Bar Code)
    SN : 8CN0AS1*******C (I put the stars to that I do not give out my SN)
    CN L 2660 |||| ||||||| ||||| G50VT (Number | Barcode | Product Series)

    if you use this SN you will be able to upgrade to win 7. Only downside is that you have to pay asus for the shipping ($26.21 USD to canada :mad:)

    Cheers!

    As do I. Whats your point? Youre not special. Pretty much anyone can get a fully activated copy of Windows 7 right now if they wanted. Its not like its hard or expensive to get. You need to realize where you are.

    I'm sorry, I still have no clue what the original topic is about.

    Is the OP saying that you can get the upgrade to win7, if you bought a refurbed during the free upgrade period, even if some stores don't say so about refurbs?

    Is the OP saying that you could get the upgrade, even if you didn't buy it in the free period?

    Or something else entirely?!?

    I mean, a refurb and win7 aren't directly related topics, without some other reference.
