I bought a G50Vt last year, for Christmas, and I was wondering how hard it would be for me to upgrade it, once my desired GFX card comes out in notebook edition. Has anyone cracked open the case yet? (I still have 2 months left on my 1 year unconditional warranty so I'm not going to do that yet.)

Where can I look to find out the specs and length of the current card so I can work on getting a new one?

The G series uses a proprietary graphics card socket, so make sure you buy one that will fit, 260M is the most powerful GPU out there that is currently in a G series!

Opening the back panel does not void the warranty, removing the heatsinks does :)

So the 260M will fit inside the back of the G50Vt-X2?

As long as it is an ASUS Backwards MXM I-III card, it will fit.
