Hello, I just received my G50 today, so far so good but the majority of my time spent has been switching it to Raid 0 and installing/downloading software as well as getting used to Windows Vista. I had my previous laptop hooked up to my 32" 720p LCD TV and it looked great, it ran Windows XP and I used a DVI to HDMI cable to hook it up.
With the G50 I have it hooked up HDMI to HDMI and it looks good but my only problem is black text like what im typeing now overall has a ranbow hue from left to right and I can't seem to get rid of it messing with different display settings. The rest of the display pictures and everything else looks fine accept black text for some reason. Both of these paragraphs have a rainbow hue to them. Any ideas what might be causing this and how I can get rid of it? I'll post a screenshot and hopfully you can see what I mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm the text appears perfectly black in that picture when I view the picture itself but not the text on the screen when I type of view the thread let me try again. I suppose posting a picture won't help I noticed the ranbow hue follows as I scroll left to right so I'm sure you guys wont see it. Although the text in the above attatched JPG image stays black, it's so strange.

Yeah a screen shot will always show you what you are "supposed to see" as in the signal and not what you do see as in the picture.
This is an issue with your display not picking up and decoding the signal right, you can try different display drivers to see if it solves the issue. I would also try a different resolution. I still have not tried the HDMI have not had the time. I have a 37" at home that works with everything since its a brilliant monitor thats made for pc use, and we have a 60" here at work that I plan to try it on that i designed to be a tv more than a monitor so it may have some of the common issues like overscan or the need for a forced pc mode. -
The text is fine at lower resolutions but it kind of defeats the purpose of using this TV if I had to run it on them. I'm using this TV's base resolution it should be running at. I've tried downloading the newest 177.79 Vista 64bit drivers from laptopvideo2go.com but when I tried to install it it said it couldn't find compatible hardware on my PC.... I must have downloaded the wrong ones or somthing, I will try again.

Cool, probably some kind of over/under scan compensation in the original drivers causing the full native res to have issues.
